This is a “best of” selection from my remaining 2009 weddings. I thought I’d share this before I begin my 2010 wedding season in less than a month! Some photos were shot at my childhood friend Whitney Hazelton’s wedding in Vero Beach, Florida as well as in San Francisco and beautiful Sausalito. I feel so lucky that such great couples found me last year, and gave me the honor of documenting their special day in some extraordinarily visual places.

Jill Luoto and Peter Pauzauskie chose the elegant Montclair Women’s Cultural Arts Club as the place to exchange their vows. Nestled in the hills above Oakland, CA, it is a colorful building whose beautiful garden and patio made for some great images of Jill and Peter’s ceremony. I couldn’t believe how they managed to pull off such a beautifully-planned wedding while trying to finish up their Phd research projects. I felt honored to document their special day and had the opportunity to get quite creative with their portraits in the small garden behind the main building. The couple were also pretty amazing dancers and made me want to take some lessons with my wife so that we know what we’re doing when we’re out on the dancefloor. Incidentally, Jill and I shared traveling and working in Kenya in common. Kenya, my childhood home, is also where Jill went to conduct research in rural village water consumption. Jill and Peter, who is a brilliant scientist and chemist, will no doubt help change the world! I wish them both the best of luck-

Ciana and Russell are getting married in June 2010. They picked a beautiful East Bay location for their engagement photos. I had never been to the Berkeley Rose Garden, but there are more than 5 great spots to shoot at, including a dark and mysterious tunnel to beds of roses to giant redwood groves. They’re a hip and fun couple and I’m really looking forward to photographing them again on their big day.
